- Fightback (Canada) (talk|edit|history|logs|links|watch) (XfD|restore)
The edit summary says CSD#G7 but that page states "provided that the only substantial content to the page and to the associated talk page was added by its author" which is not the case with this page. It has existed for years, has had many contributors, and has previously survived a vote for deletion. Sickle and Hammer (talk) 21:18, 18 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Tentative endorse. The page that survived AFD was moved to Tendance Marxiste Internationale (Québec), and then to La Riposte (Québec), where it was deleted today at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/La Riposte (Québec). (Though that afd should really have linked Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Fightback (Canada) and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Fightback (Canada) (2nd nomination), the first was ancient (and a delete) and the second withdrawn, so don't provide a basis for overturning it.) Unless someone who can view deleted content says otherwise, I'm prepared to accept that the latest deleting admin did in fact check history first, and that the twelve-day-old article that was there before it was G7d was indeed single-author. 74.74.150.139 (talk) 21:45, 18 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- The content of the "single-author" article was copied from the original article that was moved to La Riposte (Québec), which in fact many wikipedians contributed to before the move (including myself). It was an attempt to split the article into 2, one on Fightback in English Canada and one on La Riposte in Quebec. I understand that La Riposte does not meet the criteria for notability on Wikipedia, but Fightback does. Sickle and Hammer (talk) 21:55, 18 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- It looks like the article has now been restored, so the deletion review seems moot at this point. However, if the article was split from another article that has since been deleted, I think the history of that article from before the split should be restored and history merged to this article. Otherwise, the edits that produced the current content of this article will not be available. Calathan (talk) 17:36, 19 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- I find the history of this page confusing. Is the page in the history the one that was discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Fightback (Canada). Or was it Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/La Riposte (Québec)? Or Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/La Riposte (Quebec)? Can I forget Tendance Marxiste Internationale (Québec)? It looks like the CSD tagger was the sole author if you ignore the pre-deletion versions. Does the log search reflect the article title regardless of page moves? --SmokeyJoe (talk) 10:21, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
